These travel sites are offering major discounts at various picturesque locations. Groupon which is one of the largest daily travel sites recently merged with Expedia and launched Groupon Getaways. This has already drawn a lot of coverage since it will be offering options from the Expedia directory.
In a first among travel sites, the company is offering travel vouchers that the members can buy and use within a fixed period. The deals are available on the site for usually up to one week. The company is claiming discounts of around 50% but the actual discounts may vary. For consumers who are familiar with Groupon discounts this is an ideal look up place for the latest travel deals but many of the discounts do not live up to the 50% discount rate which is being publicized.
